If you could draw the word \u201cbreakthrough\u201d what would it look like? A sledgehammer crashing through a wall? A dam bursting its banks? A sapling pushing through the hard dirt? Perhaps you would use words to describe its process like hard work, grit, tenacity, and maybe even weariness.<\/span><\/p>\n

At times in our good-hearted, passionate pursuit of breakthrough we can ever so subtly shift our focus onto our own effort and will. We begin to carry the burden for breakthrough on our own back, and grow weary in the struggle. But if we turn to the scriptures to define this powerful word, we see a picture – not of humanity breaking through barriers – but of God as the One bursting through on behalf of His people.<\/span><\/p>\n

When David faced the Philistines, in what was called the Valley of Giants (Rephaim Valley, 2 Sam 5:18<\/a>), he watched the Lord burst through upon his enemies, and win the victory on Israel\u2019s behalf. There David renamed that Valley of Giants to \u2018The Valley of The Lord Who Bursts Through\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

What valley of giants are you facing? God wants to burst forth against your enemies with such power that you rename that valley after Him – The Lord Of The Breakthrough. Right now, all of heaven is breaking through on your behalf. Heaven is bursting at the seams, breaking into our churches, our cities, our cultures and our workplaces. May we simply \u201cshow up\u201d in the valley, give God our \u201cyes\u201d and see Him burst through.<\/span>So David went to Baal-perazim and defeated the Philistines there. \u201cThe LORD did it!\u201d David exclaimed. \u201cHe burst through my enemies like a raging flood!\u201d So he named that place Baal-perazim (which means \u201cthe Lord who bursts through\u201d).<\/span>

\u201cThe force of Heaven behind you is much greater and heaven\u2019s just waiting for someone to stand in the gap and declare breakthrough, because heaven is pushing through on your behalf.\u201d

KEYS<\/span>
\nSURRENDER<\/b>. 2 Corinthians 12:9<\/a>. Our weakness makes room for the power of God to move. It\u2019s not by our own might or power, but by His Spirit.<\/span><\/p>\n

ASK<\/b>. Revelation 8:4-5<\/a>. Our prayers are powerful and release the lightning of heaven.<\/span><\/p>\n

USE THE KEYS<\/b>. Release freedom over cities, spheres of influence and families, and create an open heaven for the move of God. Matt 16:19<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

GET GOING<\/b>. Acts 1:8<\/a>. Jesus has commissioned us to go into all the spheres and cultures of the world and bring the good news. As we go, signs will follow and His breakthrough will come.<\/span><\/p>\n
