Advent is more than a time of waiting. I believe it is also an invitation into an alternative way of being and alternative narrative (story). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
An excerpt from \u2018alt\u01ddr video magazine\u2019 puts that invitation like this \u2026\u201cWe believe there is an alternative narrative to the prevalent narrative of scarcity and fear.We believe God is moving and is behind an alternative narrative of abundance and freedom, a narrative in which fear gets defeated and love wins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We believe God\u2019s narrative requires we alt\u01ddr our perspective, that we step, in faith, into God\u2019s upside down reality. In God\u2019s reality we listen for, live and speak God\u2019s upside down voice of faith, hope,<\/em> peace, joy<\/em> <\/strong>and love<\/em><\/strong>,<\/em> not striving for ourselves but serving our neighbour. \u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n Advent, I believe, has imbedded in it a call to repentance – to alter our perspective so that we come into step with God\u2019s reality.
