{"id":9538,"date":"2021-01-27T06:43:31","date_gmt":"2021-01-27T06:43:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cassowary.unitingchurch.org.au\/?p=9538"},"modified":"2021-01-27T06:43:31","modified_gmt":"2021-01-27T06:43:31","slug":"knowing-the-mind-of-god-more-on-sq","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cassowary.unitingchurch.org.au\/?p=9538","title":{"rendered":"Knowing the mind of God &#8211; more on SQ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I\u2019d like to pick up this week where I left off on Sunday 17th January 2021 \u00a0in my message&#8230;&#8230;.<br \/>\nThe Apostle Paul says in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bibleserver.com\/ESV\/1%20Corinthians2%3A1-5\" class=\"bibleserver extern\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1 Corinthians 2: 1-5<\/a>; 9,10 \u201cWhen I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom\u00a0as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.\u00a0\u00a0I came to you\u00a0in weakness\u00a0with great fear and trembling.\u00a0My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words,\u00a0but with a demonstration of the Spirit\u2019s power,\u00a0\u00a0so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God\u2019s power.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWhat no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived\u201d\u2014 the things God has prepared for those who love him\u2014\u00a0these are the things God has revealed\u00a0to us by his Spirit.\u00a0The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">We can know the mind of God! <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cHow do we actually have access to God\u2019s mind?\u201d Paul says that the Holy Spirit knows the thoughts of God, and that the Holy Spirit lives in us. Consequently, we have access to God\u2019s Spirit, and having that access essentially gives us the ability to think like God! If you are a follower of Jesus, you can and should think like God. This is true spiritual intelligence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When our smartphone connects to data or Wi-Fi, suddenly we have the ability to access the Internet, which has billions of times more information than could ever be stored on a smartphone\u2019s memory. In the same way, when we connect to the Holy Spirit, we access the mind of Christ, and we tap into the Infinite One who knows everything! <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">SQ is not just accessing your own spirit or brain.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\">Instead,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>it is connecting with God\u2019s Spirit,<br \/>\nwho is eternal,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\"><br \/>\n<\/span>has all knowledge and wisdom,<br \/>\nand knows the future.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">Adapted from Spiritual Intelligence (pp. 22-23) by , Kris Vallotton<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\"><br \/>\n<\/span>Baker Publishing Group.
