  • Possessing the Kingdom – ‘just show up’

David is famous for his defeat of the giant Goliath. In the space of one day, he went from unknown shepherd boy to nationally renowned war hero. Just like that, unexpectedly, his life changed. Until this event David is that he was just like the rest of us—an average person living an average life. He had not spent years in the war academy of Israel, training as an elite warrior. He was just a normal person showing up for normal life, and one day normal life brought him an extraordinary opportunity.

I have a question for you: Are you running from things or to things? Those with victorious mindsets are learning to run at those things that are difficult to face. They know that procrastination drains power from life. They know that it usually won’t get easier later, so we must “bite the bullet” now and face our giants.  (more…)

  • Called to work with God

Challenges are commonplace in life especially in your calling to be a follower of Christ. You will know if it is a ‘God shaped challenge’ because
‘God shaped challenges’ are usually bigger than what we can handle alone.
Usually my first response is “who me?” “You’re asking the wrong person!” “There are many more qualified than me!!”

John Ortberg says “As a rule, the people whom we read about in Scripture who were called by God felt quite inadequate.” and that “our first response to a God‑sized calling is generally fear.” (more…)
