Membership Covenant
The following covenant with God is affirmed annually in a Covenant Service and serves to confirm one’s membership of the Cassowary Coast Uniting Church. If you are considering joining us it would be our expectation that you would covenant with us and then live out that covenant day by day.
“I am no longer my own, but yours. Give me what task you will, assign me with whom you will; give me work, give me suffering; let me be busy in your service, or set aside in your service, made great for you or humbled for you; let me be full, let me be empty; let me have plenty, let me have nothing; I freely and wholeheartedly give all things to your pleasure and control.
Kids:
We promise to follow you Jesus with our whole hearts. Thank you God for this community where you have put us so that we can grow in you. We promise to learn from the people around us. We will help wherever we can, and set an example of faith and love for others.
Covenant Prayer:
We thank you for our fellowship together in this place, we commend our leaders to your grace and care and pray for them as they seek to guide, nurture and discipline.
We pray for our ministry together in the world and for our unity in the Gospel. As a congregation of the Uniting Church in Australia, we pray for our witness and service under the guidance of the Scriptures and according to the Basis of Union. We long and pray for the renewal of the church under your word, and for the salvation of the lost.
Lord, Help us we pray to honour one another and to bear witness to you in all we do and say. Help us to use our resources and gifts for your glory.
Our Father, we ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord in whom we have been born anew of the Holy Spirit.
