As we head toward Easter one thing ought to become clear – we are God’s beloved. Our identity as as his beloved can become lost in the business and the intensity of life. So I encourage, as I was encouraged by A ‘Leadership Minute’ that I received from BLN to re-discover your identity.
1. Cultivate Your Intimacy with Jesus
In your Bible reading, services, and devotional life, intentionally allow love and intimacy to lead you, not familiarity or duty. Be open to new approaches and new ways of encountering God.
2. Create a Rhythm of Stillness & Silence
Slow down; eliminate hurry. In a world of constant noise, never underestimate the power of intentional stillness and silence. Allow your mind to rest, and your spirit to hear the voice of God afresh.
3. Ask, “Is Love at the Centre of this Action?”
As followers of Jesus, may we always be led by and recognized by Love. It can be easy to get on autopilot. Be intentional before each action or response to ask, “Is Love at the centre?”
4. Have a Laugh! Don’t take yourself too seriously. 🙂
Re-discover what makes you laugh! Have fun. Watch funny videos, dance around the house, get creative. Create space to let fun rejuvenate your heart, mind, and soul! Jesus teaches us to remain childlike, which includes playfulness!
5. Cultivate a Community of Belonging, where Grace is Felt
Be intentional to find yourself in a community that reflects the Belonging and Grace that God so freely gives. And be part of cultivating a community that does the same for others.
